Assistant Manager Database Administrator

Job Description:

  • • Daily Health Checks of all Databases to ensure availability of all Databases with proactive monitoring o Ensure smooth replications to DR Site o Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting Availability and Replications mechanisms • Performance tuning, managing parameters to provide fast responses to end users • Troubleshoot and resolve end-user queries related to Databases. • Interact with Application owners and users to understand and document day-to-day issues and resolve them to facilitate business. • Perform Backup & Recovery Tasks o Testing backup & recovery procedures as part of routine exercises o Developing, managing and testing back-up and recovery plans • Incident Management Logging / Reporting / Resolution. • Refining the physical design to meet system & storage requirements • Installing and Testing new versions of the DBMS • Planning and performing Upgrades to newer versions of Databases • Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata) • Controlling access permissions and privileges • Capacity planning and Databases growth trends • Devising mechanisms and solutions for archiving to control data growth • Ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly • Shell scripting to automate day-to-day jobs on Linux based platforms • Designing maintenance procedures and putting them into operation • Coordinating with Vendor where Vendor engagement is necessary • Implementing security measures • Conducting DR Drills as part of yearly exercise • Compliance and implementation of all policies and procedure in true spirit. Also, ensure compliance to IT audit observations and recommendation. • Regular review and update of all documentation of the domain area. • Performs other related duties as required or assigned by line manager.

  • • Oracle Database 11g & 12c (RAC & DataGuard) & MS SQL SERVER, are must to have skills. • MySQL & other Database Technologies will be preferred • Must have experience working with Databases on Linux RHEL & Windows Server Platforms • Prior experience/knowledge of DWH, Reporting, ETL & BI & Analytics will be preferred

  • • Fluent in the local language • Ability to work under pressure • Self-motivated individual with Team Playing skills

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in computer Sciences

  • OCP

  • Oracle Database 11g,12c & MS SQLServer ,database is must. MySQL database, Mongo database is preferable.
