The Assistant Manager – Software Quality Assurance is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications through structured testing methodologies. This role involves designing, executing, and maintaining automated and manual test cases, coordinating with PMO and development teams, and contributing to process improvement initiatives to enhance the software development lifecycle.
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts (both manual and automated) for web, mobile, and core banking applications.
- Collaborate with software developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand system requirements and use cases.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing.
- Track and report bugs using standardized tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps).
- Ensure adherence to SQA processes, policies, and best practices.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production defects and work with teams to prevent recurrence.
- Provide metrics and reports on test execution and product quality.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal audit requirements for software testing and change management.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Experience:
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance.
- Experience with financial or banking systems preferred.
- Exposure to mobile app testing and automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Postman).
Skills:
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Familiarity with SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum frameworks.
- Knowledge of scripting and automation languages (e.g., Java, Python) is a plus.
- Proficiency in SQL and API testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
Certifications (preferred):
- ISTQB Foundation Level
- Agile Testing Certification or relevant test automation certifications
