The Executive Manager Ethics & Compliance position at MMBL provides strategic direction on ethical conduct, oversees the bank-wide training and awareness programme, manages all matters relating to conflicts of interest, gifts & hospitality, and ensures effective implementation of Group and Bank policies. The role also leads engagements with Group E&C, regulators, governance committees, and law enforcement agencies on matters related to ethics.
Strategy & Governance
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Bank’s Ethics framework in line with Group standards and regulatory expectations.
Oversee the effective implementation of the Code of Conduct, ABC Policy, Conflict of Interest Policy, Gifts & Hospitality Rules, and all related Ethics controls.
Conduct ethics, conduct-risk, and ABC risk assessments and ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of related controls.
Training, Awareness & Culture Building
Lead the annual Ethics training program, including e-learning modules, classroom training, and mandatory certification campaigns.
Drive ongoing visibility and awareness initiatives on ethics, conduct, ABC, and Speak-Up throughout the organization.
Design innovative training content and internal campaigns to strengthen ethical culture.
Third-Party Integrity & Risk Management
Ensure robust Third-Party Due Diligence (TPDD) processes for vendors, partners, and intermediaries in accordance with Group requirements.
Monitor emerging ethics, conduct, ABC, and regulatory risks and advise management on mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
Maintain strong coordination with senior management, governance committees, and Group E&C through dashboards, reports, and updates.
Liaise with regulatory authorities and law enforcement agencies (e.g., SBP, FIA) on ethics-related matters.
Ensure effective use of digital tools and platforms for ethics reporting, training, and compliance monitoring.
Maintain and enhance reporting tools and digital platforms used for training, reporting, and ethics.
Monitor emerging ethics, conduct, ABC, and regulatory risks and advise management on appropriate mitigation strategies.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop the Ethics team in the areas of compliance, training design, analytics, and stakeholder management.
Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous learning.
Education
A bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
Master’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Professional certifications (e.g., CFE, CCEP, ISO 37001) will be an added advantage.
Experience
3 years of experience in the Banking Industry
Minimum 7 years of experience in Ethics, Compliance, ABC, Investigations, Internal Audit, or Financial Crime.
Demonstrated experience in engaging with senior stakeholders, regulators, and law enforcement agencies.
Proven ability to manage complex ethical and compliance risks.
