Senior Database Administrator (Open Source Database)

Job Details:

    • Senior Database Administrator is required for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical open source databases like Mongo DB, Postgres and MySql. Must have knowledge of HA Replication and Cluster Services.
    • Implement and administer of HA/DR solutions such as for open source databases, clustering, to ensure maximum uptime and data integrity. Implement robust user access controls, roles, and permissions to restrict access to sensitive data.
    • • Must have knowledge of Database Replication Techniques for above mentioned databases
    • • Monitor database performance using tools like Robo T, PG Admin or other monitoring tools to identify bottlenecks, optimize slow-running queries and indexes, and perform capacity planning. Stay informed about the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices, and apply patches and updates as needed.
    • • Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., PowerShell, T-SQL) to automate routine administrative tasks and improve efficiency.
    • • Must have knowledge of Database Patching, Backup and Recovery Techniques.
    • Proficiency with open source database management systems (e.g, Mongo DB, Postgres, My SQL Databases) and must have database security tools. In-depth understanding of encryption, data masking, access control and other security concepts. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve database performance issues. Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery options.
    • Certifications in above mentioned databases often preferred but not mandatory.
    • •Education: A Bachelor's/Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • •Experience: 2 to 3 years of experience in Database administration in large scale environment.
    • Problem Solving skill, Continuous learning for new technologies, Time management while having different tasks.
