The Manager of Bank Reconciliation is responsible for the end-to-end integrity of financial data across all banking platforms. This role ensures the seamless reconciliation of third-party payments, corporate collections, and branchless banking products. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between traditional financial controls and modern data science, driving the bank’s digital agenda through automation and advanced data visualization.
1. Operational Excellence & Data Integrity:
End-to-End Reconciliation: Oversee daily reconciliations for complex fund movements, including Correspondent Banks, Internal Accounts, Nano Lending, Insurance products, and Merchant settlements.
Third-Party & Ecosystem Management: Ensure synchronization between all involved systems for third-party payment collections and disbursements.
Settlement & Funding: Manage daily liquidity requirements, funding cycles, and clearing processes with correspondent banks to support uninterrupted business operations. Stakeholder Data Sharing: Establish robust protocols for sharing reconciled data with Finance, IT, and Business teams to facilitate prompt settlements, adjustments, and complaint resolution.
2. Digital Transformation & Automation:
Process Digitization: Actively identify manual bottlenecks and implement the bank’s digital agenda by integrating RPA (Robotic Process Automation) or advanced scripting into the reconciliation workflow.
System Enhancements: Lead interactions with IT and Product teams to design, test, and deploy system upgrades that improve transaction visibility and auto-matching capabilities.
Innovation: Stay current with emerging fintech tools to optimize data ingestion and anomaly detection.
3. Compliance & Risk Management
Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all reconciliation activities comply with internal Bank policies, SBP (State Bank of Pakistan) guidelines, and Prudential Regulations for branchless banking.
Dispute Resolution: Lead the investigation of complex discrepancies and manage the dispute resolution process, ensuring financial risks are mitigated and issues are addressed within defined SLAs.
Audit Readiness: Maintain high standards of documentation and a strict code of conduct to ensure successful internal and external audits.
4. Leadership & Strategic Liaison
Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of reconciliation specialists, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and training on new digital tools.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between Internal Audit, Finance, and external business partners to align reconciliation outcomes with broader corporate goals.
Educational & Professional Qualifications
Primary Education: MBA, BBA, or a Master of Science (MS) in a relevant field.
Professional Certification: ACCA, ICMA, or CA (Inter) is highly preferred.
Business Intelligence: Advanced expertise in Tableau, Power BI, or similar data visualization tools to create automated reconciliation dashboards.
