Executive Manager - Digital SME Banking Products

Job Details:

    • The Product Manager – will be responsible for end-to-end management of SME product portfolios with primary focus on SME credit products and digital lending enablement. The role involves strategy formulation, product development, digitization of credit journeys, risk alignment, profitability management, and ecosystem expansion.
    • The position will drive digital credit access for SMEs and micro-enterprises by designing scalable, compliant, and customer-centric lending programs while ensuring portfolio quality and sustainable growth.
    • Key Responsibilities
    • 1. SME Credit Product Development
    • ● Design and structure SME credit products including:
    • ● Develop product structures including eligibility criteria, pricing framework, repayment structures, and risk parameters.
    • ● Prepare detailed Product papers, User Manuals, policy notes, and credit program manuals.
    • ● Benchmark market practices and incorporate industry best practices into product design.
    • ● Develop new propositions for underserved SME and micro-enterprise segments.

    • 2. Digital Credit Access & Lending Enablement
    • ● Design and digitize end-to-end SME and lending journeys (Origination to Disbursement and Collections, Merchant integration).
    • ● Develop digital onboarding, underwriting, and automated decisioning flows.
    • ● Work with Credit & Risk teams to translate credit policies into rule-based digital logic and scoring models.
    • ● Enable integrations with LOS/LMS, CBS, credit bureaus, alternative data sources, and payment systems (including Raast).
    • ● Optimize approval funnels and minimize customer drop-offs.

    • 3. Business Requirements & System Development
    • ● Translate product concepts into:
    • o BRDs and Functional Requirement Documents
    • o Process maps and customer journey flows
    • o System logic documentation
    • ● Coordinate with Technology teams for system development and enhancements.
    • ● Participate in:
    • o System Integration Testing (SIT)
    • o User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
    • o Production validation
    • ● Ensure system configurations reflect approved product structures and policies.

    • 4. Regulatory & Governance Alignment
    • ● Ensure product structures comply with SBP regulations and internal credit policies.
    • ● Coordinate with Compliance, Risk, and Internal Audit for necessary approvals.
    • ● Embed responsible lending principles and consumer protection safeguards within product design.
    • ● Maintain updated documentation for regulatory reviews.

    • 5. Ecosystem & Non-Credit SME Products
    • ● Drive bundled value propositions including payments, payroll solutions, QR acceptance, and partner integrations.
    • ● Enable embedded finance through partnerships with fintechs, aggregators, and marketplaces.
    • ● Enhance customer stickiness and lifetime value through ecosystem strategy.

    • 6. SME Ecosystem Product Development
    • In addition to credit products, support development of:
    • ● SME CASA & transactional banking products
    • ● Merchant and QR-based payment enablement
    • ● Payroll and vendor payment solutions
    • ● Embedded finance partnerships with fintechs and marketplaces
    • Design bundled value propositions to enhance SME ecosystem engagement and credit eligibility.

    • 7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • ● Work closely with:
    • o Technology for system enablement
    • o Operations for process feasibility
    • o Finance for pricing validation
    • o Sales & Distribution for rollout readiness
    • ● Ensure structured handover of newly developed products to Business and Portfolio team’s post-launch.

    • 8. Digital UX & Customer Experience
    • ● Design frictionless digital journeys across mobile app, internet banking, partner portals, and merchant interfaces.
    • ● Improve:
    • o Digital loan application flow
    • o Eligibility and affordability tools
    • o Digital KYC/document upload stages
    • o Approval and rejection notifications
    • o Disbursement/repayment journeys
    • ● Analyse complaints, feedback, and user behaviour to eliminate friction and improve satisfaction.
    • Qualifications & Experience
    • Education
    • ● Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Business, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
    • ● Certifications in product management, UX, digital banking, or credit risk are a plus.
    • Experience
    • ● 5–7 years in SME digital banking, product development, lending systems, or fintech.
    • ● Hands-on experience with LOS/LMS, scoring engines, APIs, bureau integrations, and digital KYC.
    • ● Strong understanding of retail/SME lending workflows, underwriting, and risk assessment.
    • ● Knowledge of:
    • o SME / MSME
    • o LOS/LMS platforms
    • o Decision engines and rule-based underwriting
    • o Scoring algorithms and API integrations
    • o Digital KYC, e-signature, e-mandate, Raast
    • ● Understanding of lending KPIs, IRR, pricing, expected loss modeling.
