The Technical & Functional Lead – Islamic Pool Management is responsible for managing the technical and functional aspects of Islamic pool management operations, ensuring accurate profit distribution, Shariah compliance, asset allocation, and system support while coordinating with Business, Finance, Operations, Shariah, and other stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Strong understanding of Islamic banking concepts and profit distribution methodologies.
• Knowledge of pool management structures, asset allocation, and Shariah compliance requirements.
• Act as the functional and technical lead for Islamic Pool Management modules within the Core Banking System T-24 and AlQist.
• Coordinate with vendors for system implementation, issue resolution, testing, and deployment activities.
• Lead and supervise end-to-end Islamic Pool Management operations, including pool creation, maintenance, and profit allocation activities.
• Ensure accurate computation and distribution of profit and loss to depositors in accordance with approved Shariah guidelines.
• Knowledge of financing and investment asset movements within pools and ensure accurate allocation and tracking.
• Oversee asset tagging and pool mapping activities to maintain alignment with financial and operational records.
• Validate weightages, expected returns, and pool performance calculations with collaboration with Islamic business team.
• Best knowledge of reconciliation of pool balances, GLs, assets, and profit calculations.
• Ensure data integrity, reconciliation accuracy, and smooth integration between financial systems T-24 and AlQist.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to Islamic banking operations.
• Ensure compliance with SBP regulations, AAOIFI standards, and internal policies.
• Participate in system implementation, UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and change management activities.
• Liaise with the Shariah Compliance Department to ensure all pool management activities comply with Islamic banking principles.
• Coordinate with Operations, Finance, Risk, Treasury, and other stake holders for smooth execution of activities regarding PDS and pool management.
• Experience with Islamic Banking modules preferably temenos and AlQist.
• Familiarity with SBP Islamic Banking regulations and AAOIFI standards.
• Support automation initiatives and recommend technology-driven improvements to streamline pool management processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Information Systems, or related field.
• Master’s degree or Islamic Banking certification will be an advantage.
• Relevant experience in Islamic Banking Operations, Pool Management, or Islamic Finance systems.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
