The Dealer – Money Market is responsible for managing the bank’s day-to-day liquidity by participating in short-term borrowing and lending activities in the interbank market. The role involves ensuring that the bank has sufficient funds to meet its obligations while efficiently deploying any surplus funds to generate income. The dealer continuously monitors cash positions, market interest rates, and funding requirements, taking timely decisions to arrange funds at competitive rates or invest excess liquidity.
In addition, the role requires active interaction with other banks and financial institutions to negotiate deals, maintain relationships, and stay informed about market movements. The dealer ensures that all transactions are executed within approved limits and in compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal treasury policies. Proper documentation and reporting of all deals, along with daily liquidity and position reporting, are also essential parts of the role. Overall, the position focuses on optimizing funding costs, maintaining liquidity, and supporting the bank’s profitability while managing risk effectively.
- Responsible for managing liquidity position of bank through Repo, Reverse Repo and placements and managing CRR & SLR Position of bank. - Responsible for participation in auction of government securities like by analyzing and preparing bid pattern. - Dealing with brokers for all ready and forward transactions through Repo and Reverse Repo etc under the supervision of head treasury. - Support in managing the liquidity and cashflow - SBP closure activity by maintaining the sufficient funds for cash reserve requirement - RF line utilization/settlement as per the liquidity of bank - Recording of all the transactions in TM5 and ADAMS on day end - Any other tasks assigned by line manager
