The Unit Head, Compliance Governance will lead and manage the governance, risk, and compliance functions of the organization. This individual will ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, corporate governance policies, and best practices in compliance management. The role involves strategic oversight, risk mitigation, and ensuring that all compliance processes are aligned with both internal and external standards.
Understand and work closely with various stakeholders to ensure robust governance and execution of the Compliance Program. Maintain awareness of the Compliance Team towards organizational compliance objectives delivery and act as a transformation catalyst with support in the formulation of policies, procedures, controls, and implementation of systems and tools.
Processes
• Management and continuous improvement of the Compliance Program comprising structure, policies, processes, systems, and strategies.
• Provide advice to stakeholders and team members on information relating to conduct, risk and control governance execution and requirements.
• Manage consolidation and coordination across the function to mitigate risks, optimize efficiency and ensure best practices.
• Ensure up-to-date review and revisions of Compliance policies & procedures.
• Prepare agenda for Compliance Management and Board committees, including presentation and minutes of the meetings.
• Coordinate with the Company Secretariat office to ensure timely submission of Board papers and information/ approval items for further submission.
Compliance Risk Management:
• Design & execute regular assurance testing of major activities of the Compliance Department with necessary support from relevant teams.
• Work closely with Assurances teams within the organization to identify instances of breaches and report them to relevant governance forums
• Maintain a complete understanding of the conduct, risk and control environment.
• Monitor risks to management and actively monitor them to reduce the likelihood of occurrence.
• Work closely with functional units of Compliance to formulate and ensure delivery of annual compliance activity plans.
• Ensure up-to-date reporting of relevant risks and/or issues of non-compliance at relevant governance forums; raise and escalate risks to higher governance committees/Board where required.
• Manage RCSAs for compliance risk assessment for the Compliance Department in coordination with Review teams.
Governance
• Collate, compile, and review the suitability of MIS & papers submitted to various governance forums and enforce high standards
• Oversee the preparation and submission of required regulatory reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Follow-up of all regulatory requirements/actions for matters related to the Compliance Function.
• Follow up on all audit issues/actions for the Compliance Function.
• Monitor and track SBP’s remediation deliverables and/or findings and required implementation actions across the Compliance Function.
• Manage requirements assigned under the Operational Risk Framework and the Compliance Risk Assessment Framework.
• Engage Compliance function Process Owners to ensure consistent understanding and approach to process governance.
Education & Experience:
• MBA/ Master’s Degree in Commerce, Finance/ ACCA/CA + Professional Certification/Diploma preferably
• 6 to 8 years of relevant experience
