Assisstant Manager Credit Initiation Unit

Job Details:

    • Responsible for evaluating and approving/recommending conventional and Islamic credit/financing proposals within delegated authority, ensuring sound credit judgment, regulatory compliance, and effective risk mitigation. Oversee credit quality, collateral adequacy, portfolio monitoring, and adherence to SBP, AML/CFT, and Shariah requirements. Collaborate with business and support functions to enhance credit processes, drive automation initiatives, and ensure efficient, accurate, and timely credit operations.
    • • Assess secured and unsecured credit/financing proposals for creditworthiness, repayment capacity, collateral adequacy, credit bureau history, and compliance with approved lending parameters.
    • • Approve or recommend conventional credit and Islamic financing facilities within delegated authority, ensuring sound credit judgment and appropriate risk mitigation.
    • • Ensure compliance with SBP Prudential Regulations, internal credit policies, approved product programs, AML/CFT/CPF requirements, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
    • • For Islamic financing, ensure proposals, structures, approvals, conditions, and documentation are consistent with approved Shariah-compliant products and the applicable Shariah Governance Framework.
    • • Define appropriate covenants, conditions, collateral/security requirements and risk mitigants to safeguard the Bank's exposure and ensure completion of pre- and post-disbursement requirements.
    • • Review portfolio irregularities, excesses, exceptions and early warning indicators, and initiate or recommend timely corrective and risk-mitigation actions.
    • • Maintain quality, accuracy and agreed turnaround times (TAT), while identifying opportunities for process automation and operational efficiency.
    • • Coordinate with Business, Product, Operations, Risk, Compliance and Shariah functions to resolve credit-related issues, support product initiatives and ensure effective implementation of conventional and Islamic financing programs.
    • • Facilitate regulatory inspections and internal/external audits, provide accurate records and information, and ensure timely closure of observations and compliance gaps.
    • • Support system enhancements, UAT and digital credit initiatives while maintaining effective operational controls, record management and fraud-risk awareness within the unit.
    • • Coordinate business requirement documentation, user acceptance testing (UAT), system implementation, and post-implementation reviews for credit-related technology initiatives.
    • • Identify opportunities to eliminate manual activities through workflow automation, system integrations, digital documentation, and straight-through processing, while maintaining appropriate credit and operational controls.
    • • Support continuous improvement of paperless credit processing, electronic record management, digital verification, and centralized document repositories to strengthen controls and reduce operational costs.
    • Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a reputable Institution in the fields of Business Administration/Banking & Finance/ Agriculture/Economics/Accounts.
    • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in credit assessment, credit approval, risk management, or banking operations, with exposure to both conventional and Islamic financing preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of SBP Prudential Regulations, credit policies, AML/CFT requirements, collateral management, financial analysis, and risk assessment techniques.
    • Sound understanding of Islamic finance products, Shariah governance requirements, and financing documentation.
    • Proficiency in credit processing systems, workflow automation, UAT, digital transformation initiatives, and MS Office applications.
    • Strong analytical, decision-making, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities within agreed turnaround times.
