responsible for leading the Bank's Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) framework while ensuring that the Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) policies, procedures and other Policies/Product Manuals/ Procedures of the Bank remain robust, risk-based, and aligned with regulatory expectations. The role provides second-line oversight over customer onboarding and KYC governance, ensuring compliance with the SBP AML/CFT/CPF regulations, FATF Recommendations, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the Bank's Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and ongoing KYC review frameworks.
• Establish and oversee customer risk assessment methodologies, including customer risk rating models, periodic reviews, trigger-based reviews, beneficial ownership verification, and source of funds/source of wealth requirements.
• Provide governance and oversight over digital onboarding, e-KYC, remote customer identification, and customer due diligence controls to ensure regulatory compliance and a seamless digital customer experience.
• Develop, review, and maintain FCC policies, procedures, standards, and guidance documents, ensuring alignment with applicable laws, regulations, SBP guidelines, and international best practices.
• Lead the policy governance lifecycle, including regulatory gap assessments, change management, periodic policy reviews, stakeholder consultation, and policy approvals.
• Advise business, product, operations, and technology teams on Financial Crime Compliance requirements for new products, digital initiatives, and process changes to ensure compliance is embedded by design.
• Monitor regulatory developments and coordinate the implementation of changes arising from new laws, SBP circulars, FATF recommendations, and other regulatory expectations.
• Prepare management reports, governance updates, and regulatory submissions relating to customer due diligence, policy compliance, and FCC governance.
• Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, independent reviews, and remediation activities related to CDD, KYC, and policy governance.
• Promote a strong compliance culture through training, awareness initiatives, and continuous improvement of CDD and policy management practices across the Bank.
This role serves as the second line of defense for customer due diligence and policy governance, ensuring that the Bank maintains a robust AML/CFT control environment while supporting innovation and sustainable growth.
